Gene is the immediate past president and managing partner of the law firm of Liskow & Lewis, APLC. His litigation and trial experience span over three decades with emphasis in maritime law, commercial disputes, insurance and construction. A licensed private pilot, Gene has represented both manufacturers and users of aviation products. Prior to joining Liskow & Lewis, Gene served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alvin B. Rubin, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Gene has tried to verdict or judgment more than 75 lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and Texas and has served as lead trial counsel in numerous mass tort and class action cases. He has served as appellate counsel before the Louisiana Courts of Appeal, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
